We will schedule an appointment for a licensed assessor to come to your home or business and investigate for evidence of mold, and conduct appropriate testing to identify the extent of the mold growth, mold damage and the cause of the mold. If necessary, we can recommend a licensed mold remediation company to conduct a through clean up of all mold growth and clean the air inside to remove mold spores.
Our Process
Mold Assessment should be done by a licensed mold assessor and indoor air consultant. The assessment is more than simply test taking. The best assessors understand the building and the potential causes of mold. The mold assessment report should identify the problem, determine what caused it, and what recommend how to move forward.
Mold Protocol a good assessor will write a protocol that provides a road map for remediation. The protocol is a detailed report explaining what needs to be remediated and how it should be remediated. Not all remediators perform the same quality work, however if there is a protocol written by a qualified assessor they are required to follow it. Remember the cause of the problem must be fixed before any remediation can take place!
Mold Remediation remediators in the State of Florida must be licensed. They also need to be certified from the IICRC which sets the standard for cleaning mold, and other damage. Most remediators will provide you an estimate using an industry standard estimating program called Xactimate, which is based on square footage. Estimates from remediators should be similar.
Post Remediation Verification (aka. Mold Clearance): The assessor will return to be sure the work was done correctly and retest to make sure the mold problem has been eliminated. This is a critical step in the process. Without it you will not know if you still have a problem. The remediator should not reinstall the building materials before a clearance is performed, or the building materials may have to be removed again to re-clean.
* Reputable remediation companies nearly always request a protocol. A protocol from a licensed assessor provides the remediator with important information related to the different types of mold present and what is required to complete the remediation process.
